Spiritual Healing: In The School of Christ

Spiritual healing of the sick in Christ has many Christians
in a kind of spiritual vise. On the one hand they read about
spiritual healing in their Bibles. On the other, they hear in
pulpits that healing miracles have ceased and are not of today. The net effect is cause for confusion and even loss of faith.
What is the truth about spiritual healing in todays Church?

When Jesus first appeared on the scene with His ministry,
He was what Broadway show producers today would call
a smash hit! As news spread about His teaching and healing,
people literally swarmed around Him. And why not? The
message Jesus presented to them was something no
one had ever heard. He proclaimed the kingdom of God
drawing near and then did something most amazing.
He healed peopleas many as could get close to Him.

The lesson was clear. God is breaking through to the
physical world (into the affairs of man) to heal. Jesus
never wavered in this teaching. He Preached the kingdom
of God and healed the sick.

When Jesus selected His team to disciple, He taught
them the nature of Gods kingdom, instructed them
how to heal, and sent them out to continue the work
He had started. He commanded them to Heal the
sick.., and tell people, The kingdom of God is near
you. (Luke 10:9).

Jesus further said that anyone who has faith in Him
after He is gone will do what I have been doing. He
will do even greater things than these, because I am
going to the Father (John 14:12). Again, Jesus was
drawing on the message of his ministry and mission.

The more one studies the ministry of Jesus, the more
one realizes the importance Jesus placed on healing
the sick. For nearly one-fifth of the four Gospel accounts
is devoted to Jesus healing and the discussions raised
by it. In fact, the emphasis on healing is greater than any other experience in the narrative. Out of 3,779 verses in the four Gospels, 727 relate specifically to the healing of physical
and mental illness and the resurrection of the dead. And
those healings that are recorded represent only a small
fraction of the total (John 20:30). Compare this to the
165 verses that deal in general with eternal life.

Jesus saw Himself as being in conflict with evil, doing
battle on a spiritual level made manifest in the physical
realm. Unlike some believe, Jesus made clear that
most people in their present condition do not deserve
punishment. He healed freely, never asking what a
person had done or how they had sinned. He viewed the effects of unclean spirits (sickness}in our lives as keeping us from reaching our full potential and calling. This then sets the backdrop of what it was like to be in the School of Christ.

The message is God loves you. And what better way
is there to demonstrate His love to you than for Him to
heal you. This is the heart and soul of what the
Incarnation of Christ is about (John 3:16), and what
Jesus meant when He said the Kingdom of God is
near you. It implies God breaking forth into the world
and into the life of man to heal him from what evil has
wrought.

But how did Jesus heal exactly? What did He specifically
teach His disciples about healing? Is there anything we
can learn from Scripture about healing the sick that we
might apply today? In other words, is there a spiritual
healing model recorded in the Bible we can use today
in the healing ministry? The answer is a resounding,
Yes!

In Mark 6:7-13, we read that Jesus sent the twelve
out in pairs on a kind of on-the-job training mission
for the work they would be doing after His departure.
Before they went, He gave them very specific instructions.
The results of their work is recorded in verse 13...

They drove out many demons and anointed

many sick people with oil and healed them.

Before addressing the question of why the oil in the
above passage, we need to first be clear about the
healing performed. The Greek word used for healed
in verse 13 is therapeuo, pronounced ther-ap-yoo'-o,
from which the English word therapy is derived.
It literally means to wait upon menially (to serve),
to restore to health.

So there be no question, therapeuo denotes healing
occurred over time. There is no indication the healings
were in any way out of the ordinary or instantaneous.
If the healings were instantaneous, the Koine Greek
word, iaomai, as used in Luke 8:47 would have been used.

So we must (by using the rule of language) deduce
the healings of Mark 6:13 occurred normally over a
period of time. Were these healings divine? Yes!
Were they miraculous? Yes! Why? Because all
healing is spiritually rooted.

What makes the healings reported in Mark 6:13 all the
more curious is the healing modality employed by the twelve disciples. They anointed (applied with their hands) the sick with healing oil. The reason the oil is so interesting, so unexpected, is that there is no previous passage that
indicates the need or requirement to use oil in the disciples ministry. The reader is suddenly left with the appearance of these oils.

Without a previous text to explain the use of oil,
the following questions are raised:

1. By whose authority were they using healing oil?

2. From where did the oil come?

3. Why were the disciples using healing oil in their ministry?

4. What are the implications for us today?

The answer to these important questions and others
are answered in a free ebook entitled, Essential Oils
and Healing From a Christian Perspective. The ebook
is bible-based and non-denominational. To download

Snippets For Prosperous Living

To live a prosperous life you must become worry free. You must not be anxious or have an uneasiness about your life. We have to begin to recognize that each day is given to you as a gift from God. Therefore, we must seize each day and live each moment with gusto.

We must receive each day as a gift from our creator and come to realize that it is another opportunity to fulfill our dreams and benefit from the vast array of opportunities that has been set before us. We must seize the opportunity and forgive those who has crossed us in some way, we must forgive on a daily basis.

We are to consider our ways, and give careful thought to the way we conduct our lives and the way we present ourself to others. We must begin a life-long journey of enjoying our lives without feeling guilty. By enjoying our lives and setting aside time for enjoyment in our daily life, we allow our bodies to refresh itself, so that we are better equipped to allow prosperity to enter into our lives.

We need to realize our potential. In order to begin the process of realizing our potential we need to know who we are and where we are going. We need to also make clear decisions as to the direction we want our life to go. we must begin to speak potential into our life through our words and have a clear vision of what it is we want to accomplish.

In order for us to realize our potential we must slow down and become aware of our surroundings, this includes our friends, co-worker, family etc., because these can become distractions, which will push us further away from our potential. We should base our plans on our expectations, and adjust our plans as necessary.

Get a Ripped Six Pack - What's Holding You Back?

What's holding you back when it comes to trying to get a ripped six pack? Is it a lack of time? Motivation?

In this article I want to tell you how getting a ripped six pack is not as hard as you may think. In fact, it's actually pretty simple once you get the right information to help you.

Motivation is the biggest key with being successful at weight loss, especially when it comes to working on abs. Here are a couple of things that cause a lack of motivation and what you can do to fight them.

The first thing is that the exercises are boring and repetitive. This can be fought easily! All you need is a workout program that includes exercises that are constantly keeping you interested. For example, don't join a workout plan that recommends just crunches and sit-ups! Those are boring and you might as well not even do them.

The second thing is that you need a workout program that actually shows results. This may seem like a no brainer but many people join an exercise program without checking for testimonials and things of that nature. Make sure that others have used the program successfully! Not seeing results kills determination to reach a fitness goal.

These are just a couple things to think about if you really want to get a ripped six pack. All you need is determination, motivation, and a good workout program.

I offer a free e-book by a fitness expert through my website, it includes great information on getting those abs nice and hard!

Crisis In Christianity

Dealing with Grief with Jack Canfield

Creating super habits are easier than you could ever imagine. Most people have something they would like to change in their lives. If you ask anyone, they are usually able to answer this question, "If you could change anything about yourself, what would you change." All the self help and personal development programs and Books available today are full of useful information that nobody seems to take advantage of. You've seen the TV commercials and listen to other people tell their stories, about how they lost weight.

Power Of Positive Thinking

Spiritual Journaling

Whether you keep a separate spiritual journal or just want
to add your spiritual postings in your regular journal, you
will want to read this.

Personal journaling supports our development and growth.
But spiritual journaling goes deeper. Spiritual writing is
a reflection of our soul. Like personal journaling it too
is a tool for self-discovery, aids concentration, is a
safety valve for emotions, a training ground for improving
thought to paper processing, and builds self-esteem and
confidence.

Spiritual growth is not just about religion, it concerns all
life -- time, goals, relationships, work, politics, and our
inner life. Spiritual journaling is a process where the
part of us that connects with God, or our higher power,
expresses itself. It is a process of where selfishness can
be transformed into caring, rebellion into obedience, and
despair into hope. It is with this connection that personal
development occurs.

Journaling is just one discipline to a greater path of
grace. Prayer and fasting are the other two. This
discipline is a response to grace not an alternative. It is
also an adventure in joyful freedom.

Have you ever been listening to your pastor or priest and
you zone out briefly, hear something profound, and then
suddenly snap back? Its there and then gone.

What about a time when you started crying and there wasn't a
reason? The tears could have been triggered by words, a
phrase, a visual from a conversation, television program or
commercial, movie, or radio broadcast. Apparently, there
was an emotional pull, do you remember what it was? Did you
ever think of what actually trigger it?

It is my believe that these and other ways we receive
subtitle messages, either from your inner spiritual self or
a higher connection, are guidance. God and the universe
talks to us all day long but because of our busy lives we
don't listen very well or stop and take notice of what
"really" just happened. Usually, we just push our way right
though the message, shrug it off to being tired, dismiss it
as irrelevant, or not having any time to address it.

But these do have meaning and it is important to record
these, even if on a napkin, and spend some quiet time with
them later in your journal. Then ask our higher power for
guidance and understanding. When was the last time you did
this? Maybe you have never asked. Maybe its time to renew
the experience.

In order not to repeat past events we study them. But do we
study our day so that we don't repeat certain experiences
again? Usually not. What if you asked: "What occurred in
todays events that seem out of the ordinary?" "What
messages appeared that were quickly tossed that were
spiritually based and could have additional meaning?"

For this very reason, not to repeat our mistakes and to
improve our future that we should stop and ask. Throughout
history we've been told: "An answer cannot be received,
until first we ask." I know this last sentence must be a
quote from somewhere but I couldn't find the source.

Do you read material that spiritually enlightens you? A
great exercise is to journal before you read the material.
This will allow your soul to reconnect with your mind, body,
and spirit and enhance the reading.

What about journaling after or during the reading? Writing
allows the meshing of thoughts -- the authors, yours, and
the higher power. It is a powerful connection. It is the
best way we can begin to see our path and our purpose.

Dear Higher Power letters are my favorite. I feel like I'm
talking with my best friend and trusted father When was the
last time you wrote to him or her?

Many people tell me they only journal when they need to dump
their negative emotions. Yes, journaling can be a great use
for this, however, journaling is actually so much more. If
you do find that your entries are more focused on negative
aspects of life, I highly suggest you change it. Since like
attracts like, you are opening the opportunity to the
universe to send the exact type of energy back to you. And
who wants more negative energy in their life?

If you must post journal entries that are negative, let me
suggest that you don't stop there. Continue writing
flipping to the positive side. This maybe difficult at
first but as it changes so will your attitude about life.

Normally, people who don't journal often tell me that they
don't do so because it is always negative. Who wants to
return to something that is negative? I surely would not.

Want A Fun Way To Connect With Your Angels?

Create your own angel cards - A fun way to connect with your angels.

A wonderful divine creative endeavor is to make your own angel cards. It helps you connect with the angels and renews your spiritual connection. This is really quite easy and fun. As you begin connecting with your angels and the celestial realm, making your own cards is a wonderful way to enhance your intuition. You don't have to be artistic or highly creative at all.

Call in the creative guides and angels for assistance with this task. Get a set of white index cards and be prepared to write short messages for each card if you want. Your angels cards don't actually have to get that complicated in nature at all. Start small first if you must and then branch out from there. Have fun with it and make them your own!

What to do:

First make a list of angelic qualities you would like to come into your own life. On one side you write the qualities you would like to manifest and on the other side you can be as creative as you want. You can draw angels on them or put a message from your angel. The cards can be endless; as angelic qualities are vast. You can always add additional cards as your knowledge of the celestial realms deepens. It is also recommended once you complete your cards to put them in a box or beautiful velvet or silk bag.

Some angelic qualities you might list: Abundance, Acceptance, Balance, Beauty, Blessings, Compassion, Courage, Empathy, Faith, Forgiveness, Growth, Harmony, Healing, etc. As you can see this list can get quite expansive. Work with your angels on this and make it a joint creative project. Angels love to work with you in this fashion and you will see your right brain (your creative side) starting to shine through.

Once you complete the angel cards you can start to use them as an intuitive guide to assist you. Just pick one of your delightful angel cards at the beginning of the day. First you want to spend a few moments connecting with your angels and guides...asking them to assist you on selecting the card with the highest purpose and truth for the day. Then keep the card you selected by your side all day. This way you may refer back to your angelic guidance. You may also select a card before bedtime or any other time you feel the need for guidance, inspiration or connection to your angelic friends!

The 3 Phases of Goal Setting Activities You Must Follow

Do you want to buy a castle? Do you want to play basketball with Michael Jordan? Do you want to have dinner with Bill Gates? Do you want to be a millionaire? Do you want to visit the world's most exotic place? Well, as you already know, with the help of goal setting, it is possible for you to achieve all your dreams.

In fact, goal setting can be divided into 3 phases; they are, the formation phase, the setting phase and the action phase. Without any of these phases, your goal setting activities will not be completed and you will never achieve what you want.

The first phase is the formation phase where ideas, visions or dreams come to you and you want to make them come true. With that means, you need to know exactly what you really want before you can set goal to achieve it. So find out what you really want to achieve in your life right now. Do you have any dreams? Do you have any visions? What do you want to achieve in the next 10 years? Who are you going to be in the next 5 years?

Next comes the setting phase, this is where you set your goals. Goal setting is not as complicated as you think. All you need to do is to grab a pen and write down your goals on a piece of paper. Remember, you need to be as specific as possible and don't forget to write down the deadline for each of your goal. After that, paste that paper on somewhere you can see often. This will constantly remind you about your goals.

The final phase is where after you have set your goals; you need to take action to make your goals come true, and hence, the action phase. Nothing is going to happen if you are not taking any action. Goal setting is not a magic wand; it is not like after you have written down your goals and they will come true automatically. You need to consistent action that will lead you toward your goals.

These are the 3 phases of goal setting activities. By combining these 3 phases together, you will be able to achieve your goals, guaranteed. Remember, success is about getting things done. First find out what you want, set goals and develop plan to achieve them, and then take massive and consistent action everyday.

If you are serious in achieving what you really want in your life, goal setting is the right tool for you. I'm going to share with you the 3 phases of Goal Setting Activities, you are about to discover the real and guaranteed strategies how to achieve your goals.

Habits To Prevent Losing Things

The Positive Impact of Strategic Thinking and Planning on Your Success

What is strategic thinking? Strategic thinking is a somewhat complex statement. For a better understanding of what it means, first consider what strategic planning is. Strategic planning is a process of analysis and declaration, usually used by companies to focus their goals and directives. Strategic planning focuses on strategy, direction and decision-making. Before an organization could plan for its future, it would first have to examine its own strengths, weaknesses, threats and well as a summary of its political, economic, social and technological missions. The primary objective of strategic planning is not merely analysis, but the formal consideration of an organization's future course.

How does strategic planning differ from strategic thinking? There are some subtle differences that should be reviewed. Strategic thinking is not as detailed as strategic planning. Strategic thinking implies predicting a general "shape" of what the future might bring; i.e., financial trends or significant political events. Strategic planning would plan for the future and in tremendous detail. Of course, nobody can predict the future and so strategic planning would center more on predicting organizational performance rather than social outcomes. There are also more subtle differences. In strategic thinking, managers understand the entire system including all functioning units. With strategic planning, some management personnel may be kept in the dark, only being taught how to fulfill their role. The best way to understand the difference is that strategic thinking seems to favor a more effective operation, whereas strategic planning focuses on efficiency.

Both systems are recommended for a variety of reasons. A company leader must have a clear direction of where his or her company is going. Just as an individual sets short-term goals, so the leaders in an organization must continue to set goals and directives on a continuing basis. Whether you own your own business, are progressing in your career, or are seeking strategy for some other aspect of life, you should be putting forth effort to become a better strategic thinker. Here are some tips to keep in mind.

Tips To Become a Better Strategic Thinker

Every strategy starts with a vision, a vision of success, both in the long-term and short-term picture. Strategists are not afraid of failure but look forward to learning from experience. You will always be learning, no matter how long you live. All of the experience that you accumulate should help you to improve strategic thinking. The best strategists use both strategic thinking and planning to their advantage, managing their time efficiently, even while focusing in on details as much as possible. Try and remember this simple fact: time is more costly than money. Money comes and goes but you can never get wasted time back.

Becoming a better strategic thinker requires that you modify your thinking so that you can be more observant of what is happening around you. Most strategic thinkers have a very high level of awareness and are careful to take in as much information as possible. The more you know about the past and present the more you can predict the future. This is what strategic thinking is all about. It is also important that you stay patient. Staying patient doesn't mean that you have to control your enthusiasm or refrain from taking risks. Actually, the more short-term goals that you create, the better off you will be. You should also be encouraged to consider more risks as this can help you get over your fears of taking decisive action. Short-term goals keep individuals motivated and confident. At the same time, you need patience to help keep your upcoming goals moving you toward your dreams and keep your long-range mission in check.

Why Great Strategies Fail

All of these tips can help you to formulate a great strategy. However, there is no guarantee that your brilliant strategic plan will work. This is why you are advised to never risk more than you have to lose, especially when starting out in business. Often times, you will miscalculate if you are trying to strategize for a potential outcome. As previously mentioned, you cannot predict the future with 100% accuracy, no matter how much planning you do, and no matter who you are.

A miscalculation could also be due to an error in your strategy. Some of the most common errors result from simple planning mistakes. For instance, a failure to understand the client or targeted client could be responsible for a poor marketing campaign. The company may over-estimate their resources or even the competence of their staff to handle a complicated project. A lack of organization may be responsible for an unsuccessful campaign. There could even be problems with time management, with employee education, or with poor overall communication.

If this has happened don't let it discourage you. Use every setback as a learning experience and strategize so that the next endeavor is monumentally successful. I'm sure you have heard the expression, "learn from your mistakes." As we move forward and make progress on our journey, we will have many experiences to learn from. Use them to your advantage.

10 Keys to Living a Really Good Life

At the core of our being, we all seek the solution to living a well lived life. Thoughts of living a well lived life speak to us on a soul level. These thoughts fill us with longing for peace and wholeness.

Who among us doesn't aspire to have someone say, at the end of our lives, that we lived our lives as a testimony, that we spent our time well? That opportunity is available to each one of us, through living our lives based on a unique set of 10 keys. The keys are: Courage, Faith, Reciprocity, Revolution, Creation, Friendship, Affirmation, Mission, Inspiration, and Beauty.

I discovered the value of living life based on these unique keys, from... well, from living my own life and observing how other people have lived and are living theirs.

In my work as a professional actress, playwright and theatre professor, I have trained and worked with hundreds of people, young and old. As an actress and playwright, I've observed and studied people's behaviors using my findings as the basis for character and story development, searching for those key traits that would be the catalyst to bring a fictionalized character into full view. Typically, when you're observing someone you don't have much time so you train yourself to observe with speed mindful not to be overt. You have to see what makes a person tick pretty quickly.

As a theatre professor I've had the pleasure of touching the lives of my students in a positive and meaningful way. Many would ask me how I knew what I wanted to do in life. Answering this question has never been difficult for me, because from an early age I knew that my purpose in life was to create. I knew that I represented the key of creation. I saw this key as my personal "identity tag," understanding that Creation was my driver. It has always defined how I lived my life. On a philosophical level, it was my identity. To put a different slant on things, living life honoring your dominant key is actually living your calling. You feel compelled to honor this force inside. To live your life in opposition to it is to live with far less fulfillment and diminished joy.

Experience has shown me that although we are called to continually be in awareness of and honor all 10 keys, each of us has one that is dominant. Just as Creation is my basis of conduct and operation, you too, are called to live your life motivated by your dominant key, or what I like to call your "identity tag."

Look at the list of 10 keys and spend some time reflecting upon which key resonates the strongest for you: Courage, Faith, Reciprocity, Revolution, Creation, Friendship, Affirmation, Mission, Inspiration, and Beauty.

I encourage you to explore your life thus far, discern your dominate key and to fully embrace all 10 keys as a solution to living your life well and to the fullest.

How Me The Money - How To Bid A Construction Cleaning Project

THE BASICS OF BIDDING (Part 1)

The bidding process is not a fine-tuned science. There are many variables in construction cleaning but the good thing is there are also several ways to figure the numbers.

So, for the basics of pricing, here's the three ways to calculate a bid. The first way is PER PIECE.

We often figure bids based on a per item basis. For example, we have bid apartments at $100 per unit and figured the numbers for a hotel based on rooms.

This method is best when the size of the units (or rooms) are similar. If you're cleaning apartments, the procedure will be the same in each unit, so you can figure your expenses at a per unit cost.

Likewise, if you're doing spec homes (cookie-cutter homes) that have three basic layouts, you can average them together and then give the builder a single price per home.

For example, we can break down the manhours in an apartment and specify how long -- at the most -- it should take someone to clean.

(This is the worst case scenario. We always try to beat these numbers.) We will allow 1 hour to clean a tub, 1 hour to do the windows, 1 hour for the open areas (floors, doors and base), 30 minutes in the rest of the bathroom, and 45 minutes in the kitchen. Worst case, that unit should take 4.25 hours.

Now, when we are paying out $12 an hour, that figures out to $51 per unit. Add $2 for supplies per unit and another $5 for overhead expenses. So our total cost per unit comes out to be $58.

Several years ago we bid a 132 unit complex at $112 per unit. At the numbers I gave you, that's $54 per unit profit. Multiply that by 132 for the grand total PROFIT -- $14,784.

Now, that project spread out over several months, but we also ran other jobs during that time. I love the variety construction cleaning offers! This gave us a nice cash flow with chunks of money to put in the bank. Ka-ching!

Of course, any part of the work you do yourself is money in your own pocket. On a job (if we are supervising ONLY), we like to keep our labor and other expenses down below 50% of the contract price even with bonuses or other incentives. If you can keep it below that, fantastic! More power to you!

We are currently working on a project that they budgeted almost $200 per unit. That per unit price does include the clubhouse square footage and the common areas (hallways, laundry rooms, etc.)
but we're getting 15 cents a square foot. We do have three story glass to deal with, but the windows fold in for easy access in all the units.

The clubhouse has windows that are only accessible by ladder or by using a window extension pole, but we are subcontracting those out to our window washer because I'm not willing to do that
anymore. But you get to choose what you want to do and what you want to pay out on.

So, for this particular type of project we prefer to bid per unit (especially apartments and hotels) since it simply involves doing a multiplied number of similar units.

Now "per unit pricing" is only the first way you can bid a job. In my next article I am going to explain the second method of pricing for a construction cleaning project. Until then, best of business to you!

Your Peace of Mind and Happiness

You must be open for happiness and build it with time. If you are pessimistic with constant negative thoughts, there is no way you can feel happy, even with the really nice things in your life. Without gratitude, you'll always be complaining without recognizing how lucky you are in many ways. When you are sad, try to think about something good. Don't insist on thinking about your problems.

If you focus on what is good, your mood will change. Your disposition will be much better and in a while you'll start really feeling better. Your mind is transported to the places that you think of, so if you start thinking positively and remembering good moments of your life, you'll be transported to other places when you lived situations that you liked.

This is an exercise you should do, so that you learn how to feel fine and stop worrying about the same problems over and over again, even when you are full of problems. You should think about them until a certain point and try to solve them. Once you find a solution or a way to find it, you should stop worrying and think about something else so that you may keep your peace of mind.

Of course, this is not easy, but you have to initially have the open attitude of a person who understands that there is no point in obsessing with something and accept to think about something else. If you insist on considering the occupation with your problems important (even though you have already found the solution or the way to find it, or have simply understood that you cannot solve them...) this occupation will steal your peace of mind and you'll feel depressed.

You may not even be able to sleep. This is the problem with people who suffer from insomnia: they keep thinking about their problems. Everyone has problems, and many times they are serious.

Of course you need to think about your problems, trying to solve them at the soonest, but if you overdo it, in the end, you'll have another problem to face because of this manic obsession with your problems as if you could automatically solve them by thinking the same things over and over again. The ability to abandon a hypothesis that was already analyzed is basic for your psychological and physical health.

Usually, people who suffer from insomnia or are constantly pessimistic believe that their thoughts are unavoidable and that the reason they cannot rest and feel fine is the existence of their problems, not their attitude.

If they were right, nobody would ever sleep at night...

Problems, dangers, fears, everything that frightens you and every challenge you have in your way shall be part of your concern, but you shall not be blocked by them. I'm not talking about total indifference to your problems and an irresponsible attitude, like the attitude of people who sing and dance while they should be working to pay their bills or trying to correct their mistakes.

I'm talking about the insistence upon negativity and pessimism and in the adoption of a constant worrying attitude. I don't know if you ever noticed it, but some people have the nervous and worried attitude all the time. It characterizes them so much that they are not able to show joy and satisfaction even when they should be happy for some reason.

Of course, if you have very serious problems or if you are not self-confident, you need help in order to stop worrying at a certain point and relax. If this is your case, start writing down your dreams and learn what the wise unconscious teaches you.

You'll see that the way you feel and your actions will not depend upon the external world. You'll build your internal safe refuge, thanks to which you'll keep your peace of mind and will be always satisfied with yourself, no matter how many problems the outside world may bring you.

Six Keys To A Loving Relationship

The most important thing in life is love. The security of a loving relationship is perhaps the most wonderful thing than a man and a woman can experience in his or her lifetime.

Love has often been compared to money in that, if you have an ample supply of love, you dont think about it very much, but if you supply is cut off for any period of time you think about nothing else.

Everything we do in life is either to get love or compensate for the lack of love. Our greatest need as a human being is to be loved, accepted and understood completely and unconditionally by at least one other person.

If an individual is going to become all he or she is capable of becoming he, or she must do everything possible to build and maintain a loving relationship with another person. This includes listening, expressing gratitude and appreciation, treating the other person with kindness, courtesy, gentleness, patience and above all tolerance.

The best thing that can ever happen to you in life is for you to evolve and develop personally to the point where you attract into your life the ideal loving relationship that enables you to create the happiness that you were meant to enjoy.

Finding your ideal mate is one thing, but keeping the relationship together is a different challenge. Based on my work with thousands of individuals and couples over the years I have found that there are six keys to success in relationships:

1. Youll always be the happiest and most compatible with another person whose interests, tastes and values are similar to yours. You will always be the most attracted to a person whose fundamental underlying attitudes and values are in harmony with your own. This is especially true when it comes to money; how it is earned, saved and spent. Also important are attitudes with regard to children; whether or not to have them and how to raise them. Attitudes toward sex, religion and politics are equally important.

2. Nature demands balance, harmony and peace. Where balance is most necessary is in the area of temperament between two people. For example, there must be an equal ebb and flow in conversation where there is equal time in talking and listening. If this is not the case, eventually one of the partners will seek his or her need for communication elsewhere. Studies show that lack of communication is one of the most common causes for affairs in marriages and eventual break-ups. You must be conversationally compatible with your partner to have a successful relationship.

3. There must be total commitment to the relationship on the part of both parties. This requires a heartfelt determination on the part of both people to make the relationship successful. A total commitment means that neither party ever considers or discusses the possibility of separating, breaking-up or divorcing. If there is the slightest hesitation or misunderstanding in creating or supporting every
opportunity for the other person to grow and develop you may have a relationship but not a loving one.

4. You must genuinely like your partner. Its much more important and satisfying to genuinely like your partner than to be in love. In a long-term relationship people fall in and out of love, so the amount of emotion that each person feels may vary with the passage of time. If two people like and respect each other the relationship will endure indefinitely despite emotional ups and downs. You must know and feel without a shadow of a doubt that your partner or spouse is your best friend. Studies show that couples that have taken the time to become friends first and have fallen in like as opposed to fallen in love, are usually the relationships that are the happiest stand the test of time.

5. You will always tend to be attracted to and be the most happy with the person who has a similar self-concept to yours. You will be the happiest with a person who is as positive as you are. The general tone of a relationship, the level of optimism versus the negativity is a very good indication of the compatibility of self-concepts. For example, if two people get into a relationship where one person is happier or more negative than the other, then, the optimal conditions will exist for all kinds of unhappiness and conflict to happen in their relationship.

6. Good communication is the number one reason for success in relationships and marriages. On the other hand, poor communication is number one reason for the failure of relationships and marriages. In order to have a good level of communication in a relationship there must be a high quantity and quality of unbroken time with each other. Couples need to get away, alone together and just spend long stretches of time keeping the communication channels open. Whenever two people get so busy that they stop taking time to talk there are guaranteed troubles ahead.

You should make every effort to build a long loving relationship within which you can live indefinitely, but if it doesnt work out, have the courage and character to accept that nothing in life is ever perfect.

The most important thing in life to always remember is that you can never make anyone else happy by suffering unhappiness yourself. Only happy people can make others happy. Never sacrifice your happiness to try to make someone else happy. If you do, youll end up achieving neither your own happiness, nor the happiness of the other person.

Have the honesty within yourself to accept that the kindest thing you can ever do for someone else is to achieve your own happiness. If you do that youll be living true to yourself and true to the most important people in your life.

Overcoming Loneliness - 10 Ways to Survive Being Alone During the Holidays

Although holiday season is considered a time of joy and love, but for a number of folks, it is also a time of loneliness. Those without someone special in their life often find themselves full of anxiety and loneliness during this time of year. There are also people who are spending holidays alone for the first time after the death of someone close or a divorce. The lost of loved ones and relationship break-up can intensify the feeling of loneliness especially during holidays. If you're experiencing loneliness that adds to your anxiety and sadness during the holiday season, here are some suggestions to help you out.

1. Understand it is ok to feel lonely and sad sometimes. Know that you are not alone and there are many people who find themselves isolated during the holidays, wishing they could be with family and friends.

2. Appreciate your time alone and look at it as a time of solitude and reflection. Use this time to indulge yourself in something you enjoy doing but couldn't find the time.

3. Think positively and learn to build confidence in yourself by accepting who you are, whether you are single or alone.

3. Examine your feelings and express them creatively through Dance, Write, Paint, Rest and Play.

4. Go out and get yourself involved in some activities. Volunteer in community services or just spend time at the book stores or coffee shops, talking to people.

5. Get in touch with friends and family, invite others to come to your house and celebrate holidays together.

6. Take a walk in the park or surround yourself in nature. Relax and leave all your worries behind.

7. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you are living alone, you may want to find out from your community agencies if they offer special services or programs for people who live alone, such as a telephone reassurance program, etc.

8. Get a pet. Pets can be great companion to help beat loneliness.

9. Read some books and listen to music that will encourage you in a healthy and positive outlook.

10. Take action. Nothing is going to change if you just sit there. Put it into practice what you have learned here.

If loneliness is robbing you of your joy during the holiday season, it's time to fight back to regain your confidence and contentment. Overcoming loneliness is not easy and takes time, but with courage and determination, you can definitely triumph over your loneliness.

Newtonian Laws of Self-Improvement - First Law

Who would have thought that Sir Isaac Newton knew soA36 much about the area of self-help and motivation? Well probably not anyone. But doesn't the word Newtonian sound so authoritative. I thought so.

Way back in the 17th century Newton provided the world with his now famous three laws of motion. I have attempted to adapt his three laws and apply them to our lives and what we do with them. Seeing how most of our success does not begin until we get off our butt and actually do something, laws on motion should fit in pretty well.

Newton's first law states that an object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and the same direction unless acted on by an unbalanced force.

What does this mean to us? Well it means the hardest step is actually getting our project started. If you are on the couch you are probably going to stay on the couch. If you have already become that man or woman of action it is probably going to be hard to stop you.

Taking the first step is the hardest sometimes. The second step gets a little easier and so on and so on.

And the closer you get to your goal and the more you start to realize that your goal is attainable, the less likely you are to stop in your efforts to attain that goal.

There are forces though that attempt to stop you. Sometimes on a daily basis. Those forces could be financial issues, exhaustion and stress. The challenge is to keep going forward. Because once you stop the harder it will be to get going again.

Great Things Materialize Once We Start to Visualize

Watching the Olympics last week really amazed me. The feats of strength were fantastic, and the drama of the events themselves was captivating. But what really made the biggest impact was being reminded of something we all know or have learned in the past, and yet rarely put into action for ourselves: the art of visualization.

Now, Im not talking about some deep Buddhist trance. Im talking more along the lines of visualizing in our minds the actions we wish to take, the things wed like to have, or even the personal relationships we desire in clear detail, before they actually appear.

It simply dumbfounded me to realize that all of these athletes spent time visualizing in their minds their entire routine, race, or event before they began their quest. I could see it in their eyes, the way they were visualizing each step, every turn, before they took a deep breath and ventured out into history.

This is where I ask you: When was the last time you gave yourself that much attention in the way you perform your lifes tasks, or visualizing how you see your days in the future?

Could you imagine waking up each day with a clear focus on your desires?

Could you imagine the power you could give yourself by visualizing a goal and seeing it come to fruition in your minds eye?

So many people say to me, I want to be happy, I want to be rich, I want that perfect relationship. Yet, when pressed, rarely do these people have a clear picture of what that would be. Without a clear vision, what they want could be right in front of them the whole time, but how would they know?

So, I turn it over to you.

What do YOU want out of life? Use your imagination, and do a little daydreaming, so to speak, then write down the vision for your happiness and fulfillment.

Once you do, youll find that the picture you see for yourself isnt so crazy after all, and with the right direction, all things really are possible.

Because great things materialize, once we start to visualize.

Best wishes, and Keep smilin'......

Are You Missing These Steps to Successful Goal Setting?

Goal setting is a powerful technique. Used properly it will accelerate your personal and professional growth. By deciding what you want to achieve and then taking action to move toward the end result, it gives you vision for the future and motivation for today. Goals are the foundation of my sales training.

Some goal setting benefits:

* Greater achievement
* More balance in your life
* Increased motivation
* Improved self-confidence
* Better decision making
* Better focus
* Improved time management
* Over all self improvement and success

Research shows that people who use effective goal setting:

* Have reduced stress and anxiety
* Concentrate better
* Are more confident
* Live happier and more satisfied lives

How to Set and Achieve Goals

Begin by setting goals in all six areas of your life:

* Family
* Financial
* Spiritual
* Physical
* Social
* Mental

Setting goals in every area will ensure more balance in your life. Think of each area as the spoke of a wheel. When you set goals in each area the wheel becomes round and begins to roll smooth and gains momentum. Therefore, accomplishing your goals becomes effortless and success in sales and other areas becomes inevitable.

Write your goals down. By writing out your goals you are creating a picture to impress upon your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind will work to complete the picture, either positive or negative. The more positive your picture, the more positive your results.

Get a clear detailed picture of your goal. Write down in detail what you want to become, do or acquire. Instead of writing $100,000 in income, get specific on how many sales that is, the benefits your clients will receive, how it will make you feel. Focus on the outcome without worrying about how it will happen. Leave the how's to your subconscious mind to work out.

Close your eyes and visualize how your life will change when you earn $100,000 per year. How will you feel, act and look? Spend time everyday visualizing the outcome and continue to refine your written goal. Use these goal setting strategies for all the areas of your life.

"The secret to productive goal setting is in establishing clearly defined goals, writing them down and then focusing on them several times a day with words, pictures and emotions as if we've already achieved them." Denis Waitley, Author and Speaker

When you've created a clear picture in your mind of the outcome, then start taking actions. Listen to the little voice inside. Will this action bringing you closer or further away from your goal? Don't be concerned if you stray off course. Make adjustments along the way. Planes are off course 95% of the time in flight. The pilot constantly makes adjustments to get to the destination.

Take time every day to refine your goals. Think Big! "As long as you're going to go about your day thinking anyway, you might as well "think big". Many people think small and look where it gets them. What's the worst that can happen? As the saying goes, "if you shoot for the moon and miss, you'll land among the stars".

Goal setting is a choice. It's a choice between taking the time to set goals the right way and having what you want or not setting goals and wanting what you have.

In Goal Setting, Is the Path Or the Destination Key?

It's often very difficult to stay focused on achieving a goal when we can't see our destination. Barricades often temporarily block our view causing us to lose sight of our goals. It's at that precise moment that many people to detour off a chosen path.

In reality, what really matters is the knowledge that you know where you are, what your next step is, knowing where we are going and what lies directly in front of us. What matters is the path we are on.
If, as we travel along our path we take care of what the immediate steps, the ones we can see directly in front of us, then we will stay on track and move in the right direction.

It could be compared to driving cross-country from California to New York in the dark. All you pretty much see is that twenty or so yards in front of you - what you head lights allow you to see. You follow the map, and follow the signs, but the only way to get there is to drive those few yards at a time. First you travel the first few years, then the next, and so on. Barring no obstacles one will eventually arrive at their destination.

Naturally, one barrier that can keep us from arriving at the destination is not having a plan. Developing a plan on how to get from point A to point B helps one pay attention to the signs around us. It helps us gauge where we are compared to where we want to be. Without a plan are not to very likely to get
there.

So it is with life...

Those without a plan usually fail to arrive at the destination they really want to be at.

Failure to pay attention to the warning signs is another barrier. Following a road map or chosen path explicitly can also lead to devastating results

Perhaps you heard the story about a couple who blindly followed their new Mercedes GPS system and didn't pay attention to the "road closed" sign. The couple drove their car off a washed out bridge. Apparently they aren't alone. There was a story last year in the Times of London that reported drivers were following their GPS directions right into a river.

Distraction is another obstacle that trips up many people. It's easy to get distracted by the scenery around us, and detour off our chosen path. Having a firm destination helps us handle the detours that may arise.

A missile will not head straight to its target. It is constantly making adjustments as it travels through the air to its destination. It has an internal guidance system that guides it towards its destination. An internal guidance system allows us to stay focused on the path before us, but still allows us to know what our destination is.

A traditional Zen tale reminds us of how we can lose sight of the path by focusing too much on the destination. In the tale, a young student asks his master how long it would take him to find Zen if he worked very hard. The master replied, "Ten years."

The young student is obviously disappointed that it would take so long. So he then asks, "What if I really apply myself and work very hard? How long would it take then?"

The master replied "Twenty years."

"But, if I really, really work at it. How long will it take me then?" asked the student.

"Thirty years," replied the Master.

The disappointed student then said. "I don't understand. Why will it take me longer if I work harder?

Wisely, the master replied, "When you have one eye on the goal, you only have one eye on the path."

Some success coaches will tell us that keeping your eyes focused on the goal is important. Others teach us that the path we travel is most important. I say they are both important and that the trick is to keep a balance.

If you have paid attention to the signs around you, and have followed your road map, or plan, you will get to your destination!

Enhancing Your Self-Image

Success is an inside job. Even if your body and mind are ready, willing, and able to learn and do whatever is necessary to get the job done, a negative self-image may stop you.

Although we create many outward images of ourselves-so we can interact with or impress others and sell our ideas or services-we only have one self-image. The way we view ourselves determines the level of success we attain in anything. To achieve more success, some parts of our sense of self will have to change.
Your inward impression of yourself controls much of what you create in your life. When someone says, "Good morning, how are you?" you probably answer, "Fine," regardless of any troubles you may be having. The image you project is often very different from your true sense of self.

Because your level of success and happiness is controlled by your interior self-image, you must try to ensure that your exterior image and your interior image are in sync. If you can't match your self-worth with your exterior image, your ability to achieve at the highest levels will be restricted.

Try this exercise. Put the palms of your hands together with the fingers aligned as if in prayer. These hands pressing gently together represent you. Now twist your wrists, keeping your hands together, until the back of your right hand is facing away from your face. The right hand with its back facing out is the side of you that you want and allow the world to see. In fact, you present it to the world all the time. You put your best foot forward. It is the side of you that is happy, fine, capable, reliable, strong, honest, trustworthy, caring, sensitive, and thoughtful. This is your positive side.

Your left hand is the one only you can see. It's the side of you that isn't so good. This is the side of you that's not strong, that is lonely or hurting, that has faults, is afraid, unhappy, easily angered, and not confident. This is your not-so-positive side.

Which side is the real you-the positive side or the not-so- positive side? The truth is, you are both. One side does not negate the other. Just because you have faults, failures, or insecurities doesn't negate the fact that you have strengths, wonderful attributes, and abilities to get things done. Yet most people tend to let their not-so- positive side reduce the strengths on the positive side. They focus on the not-so-good side of themselves, saying, "I know I'm a good person, but . . . ."

If the image you have of yourself consists of only undistinguished and unexceptional qualities-or all the things you are not-then your self-image is discrediting your positive attributes. You can be-and in fact are-both at the same time. For example, if you get a pimple on your nose, isn't that all you see when you look in the mirror? Even though the rest of your face is just fine, you worry about the one blemish. But your pimple does not negate the wonderfulness of all your other features.

You can choose to put the not-so-positive side into proper perspective by no longer making it your focus. Once you have the right perspective, you are free to see all the good things about yourself. You can see that you have a profusion of strengths and abilities.

When people operate from the not-sa-positive side, they give themselves negative labels, saying, "I don't really have what it takes," or 'Tm not cut out for this." Often these labels are not true, but if they are your truth, a negative self-image results and affects your confidence, performance, and happiness.

To better understand how both sides are valuable to you, try another exercise. Put your hands in front of your chest, as if praying. Press them together as hard as you can, having someone hold your wrists at the same time. Now have them quickly pull your hands apart, moving one hand toward yourself and the other toward your partner. No matter how strong you are, or how hard you try, you will not be able to keep your hands together. Just as you are weak in trying to hold your hands together, you will be weakened if you consider your inner and outer selves as two separate beings.

Try this exercise again, this time interlocking your fingers. In this position, your hands cannot be pulled apart-you are strong now. As you can see, our weaknesses can actually make us stronger. Weaknesses tend to make us more humble and teachable. If you can believe that a weakness is truly a gift from God, then you must also believe that God will show you your weakness and make it your strength.

As a child, my weakness was my cowardice. That weakness prompted me to excel at karate. My lack of self-esteem as a young boy living on the Navajo reservation was one reason I decided to become a professional speaker and help others-so I could feel better about myself. My weaknesses have made me stronger.

If you are prone to take charge of a job and do it well, you are most likely driven by a weakness. This weakness could be a feeling of inferiority that makes you go out of your way to do well. Your feelings of inadequacy may cause you to be a top performer. In order to control the outcome, you have to take charge. Perhaps you have a need to be noticed, praised, or acknowledged that causes you to excel.

I know many people who appear to be very strong-they look and act like confident, make-it-happen, take-charge people. They get the job done, reach out to others, and are there to help whenever they can. Many are known for their caring hearts. But if they stop helping others, they feel empty and much of their joy goes away. On the surface, they seem fine, but inside they just aren't happy. For these people, helping others is like getting an emotional fix. They must help others to feel okay inside.

When I ask, "Who takes care of you?" I frequently hear, "No one." Such people feel lonely and are either unaware of their need to be taken care of or try to ignore it and meet their needs by helping others. Often the reason they reach out to others is because they know how bad it feels not to be taken care of. Because of our weaknesses-or needs-we feel powerful or compassionate, but we can still be left searching for our own happiness. When we are just givers, our own emotional resources quickly become drained.

Great Video For Opening Your Christian Minds

I was reading a book on advertising when the author mentioned, "All Advertising Is about Hope."

This got me thinking about other people's dreams and aspirations, most of this is wrapped around them hoping to accomplish something or do something. I never gave it much thought but hope is one of the most important things in our lives. Some people go around hoping that they will keep their job, when the economy is in bad shape. Others go around hoping for forgiveness for their sins or other bad deeds they have done in the past.

What is it you're hoping for? There's got to be something. Are you hoping to become a multimillionaire or even the world's first trillionaire. Are your dreams big or small? Are you the kind of person who is happy living a simple life with very little possessions like a Buddhist monk or are you one who is seeking the lifestyle of the King.

Hope supplies us with the will to continue through hopeless obstacles during our lifetime.

Most people seeking hope are looking for a way out of something or a way toward a better life. These people often fall easy prey to large religious organizations, as they take them under their wing and slowly start to brainwash them. They seek the weak minded, helpless, poor and trusting people and build their organizations using them. I once believed in Christianity, but it no longer offers me true hope, the more I study Christianity and other organized religions, I noticed certain similarities based on inspiration.

I hope I live the good life, so I can go to heaven, the promised land, our ultimate enlightenment.

I hope I am living the true will according to God, Buddha, Krishna or other supreme beings.

I hope that the Bible is wrong about the 144,000 people from the 12 tribes.

I hope I'm living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

If you're part of an organized religion, ask your religious leaders, any questions that you have about your religion. If they can't answer these questions, try to find them on your own. Books, videos, and the Internet are great sources for information. If you're living your life for the sole purpose of going to heaven one day, you could be disappointed, when that day arrives.

Ask a couple of questions and I hope you will get honest answers to them.
